This all started several years ago when I volunteered to try something that had never been done. The “Spiel” was originally written as a blog about customer interaction and experience for my company, Harley-Davidson. The first internal blog for the Motor Company (and possibly the only one), it had a life of about two years, until the employee web site went through an update and the company decided to embrace Yammer (remember that?).
My first blog posts outside the corporate firewall were a travelogue about my experiences on Harley-Davidson’s 105th Anniversary Ride. The ten posts were a daily recap of destinations, people and observations about my motorcycling life. They are included on this site, republished from their original posting dates in 2008.
My plan is to use this platform to tell some stories, share some experiences and make some observations. You can find out more about me on Linkedin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevenpiehl/) and join me on the road any time.
(A personal note: I’m learning how to use the WordPress site. The pages don’t look as good as I want them to, but they’ll get better, and they’ll certainly have more images.)
